How to get here

The Northern Croquet Academy is at York Croquet Club, which is based at Scarcroft Green, Scarcroft Road, York. This gives access to three very good lawns and two small practice lawns.

By car: use the satnav postcode YO24 1DD. The Club is in the railed off area between the seven semi-detached houses and the main expanse of Scarcroft Green: look for the small gate in the railings. See map below. There is some unrestricted parking in Scarcroft Road; the rest of the road offers two-hour parking. Other untrestricted parking is available five minutes’ walk away in Albemarle Road, satnav postcode YO23 1EN. Alternatively use one of the Park and Rides, alight at York station and follow the walking route (ten minutes) below.

By rail: we are ten minutes’ walk from York Station which has excellent direct InterCity connections south to Peterborough, Stevenage and London; south-west to Sheffield, Derby, Birmingham, Bristol and the West Country and to Oxford, Reading and Southampton; west to Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool; and north to Newcastle, Edinburgh and beyond.  There are also good local rail services to Harrogate, Knaresborough and Scarborough.  To walk to the club from the station, turn right out of the main entrance, and, keeping the city walls on your left, walk to the traffic lights. Turn right down Blossom Street.  Continue past the cinema and over the junction with Holgate Road/East Mount Road.  At the next set of lights, turn left down Scarcroft Road. The Club is on the left after the seven semi-detached houses.
